Doaa Farouk (A.K.A. ‘The Smiling Beauty’) is one of ART’s more passionate presenters. Doaa is no stranger to the camera and after a successful launch of the ‘hit’ show ‘Kenouz’, LIVE shows are now her specialty and expertise. Kenouz was by all means one of the most successful Ramadan shows ever.

Doaa’s humorous nature is as embracing as her smile. She openly reveals some of her funniest and more personal career moments:

“While shooting on location at the pyramids for ‘Khaliek Maana’ program the horse I was riding suddenly jumped and I lost balance and fell off the back of it. It was not long before the entire crew and equipment were being dragged by the microphone and camera leads behind me on the ground!”

“In a later episode of ‘Khaliek Maana’, I had a terrible cough that I wasn’t able to overcome, the crew managed to get me some cough medication and every break I took a sip from the bottle! By the end of the episode I realized I had drank the whole bottle, I was really high! What’s worse is the program was LIVE.”

‘Khaleik Maana’ was Doaa Farouk’s first program where she hosted celebrities from the Arab world such as Hani Shaker, Ehab Tawfik, Hisham Abass, Angham and many more. ‘Khaleik Manaa’ is said to be the first LIVE program on any satellite channel.

“Again during the show, I was presenting an episode on ‘How to Prevent Baldness’ & my co-host was ‘Doaa Amer’. The guest of the show –a doctor- was supposed to be giving viewers useful information about the topic… Only problem: he was completely BALD!!! Doaa and myself were unable to stop laughing and we had to take turns presenting the show because it was LIVE and we were hysterically loud!”

Her life as a presenter had some seriously exciting moments:

“It was an exciting episode, and a painful one! Doaa Amer and myself were interviewing some serious Kung-Fu Champions and we had agreed to take our chances against the awesome combat skills! Of course we had rigged the fight so that we would win but in front of hundreds of spectators the Kung Fu experts made ‘Chop Suey’ out of us! Instead of our loyal viewers enjoying a ‘power girl’ episode they were watching us get the beating of our lives!”

After years of serious debating, it was time to move on and Doaa enjoyed two short projects: ‘Fazorit El Fawazeir’ (an exciting LIVE competition program) and ‘Nadi El Moshtarikeen’ (a promotional show highlighting all of ART’s channels).

It was during the latter show that her perspective on life changed and she embraced the veil. Her fear at the time was that such a decision would interfere with her career. His Excellency Sheikh Saleh Kamel encouraged her to go on with her program and continue her career with ART.

Shortly thereafter, the perfect career opportunity presented itself: “Kenouz for me was a turning point in my life and I really loved the experience”

Kenouz rendered Doaa Farouk the talented television anchor into a highly motivated person with a clear goal and message in life!

Throughout her career with ART, Doaa mingled with many big names in showbiz. Highlights include opening ceremonies for ART Tarab and Hekayat channels in the presence of celebrities such as Soaad Mohammed, Wadei El Safi, and Hani Shaker.

Doaa is the eldest sister of three girls, and enjoys a beautiful relationship with her family. ‘Aya’ the youngest of the four may just follow in Doaa’s footsteps and become one of the region’s more sincere presenters.
