Moez, the presenter of the show, and a main reason behind its success,
has managed at the age of 24 to memorize the entire Quran and use his
talents and skills to serve "Dawah". A huge departure from the
apres-moi-le-deluge lifestyle he led in the past.
Moez is a firm believer that the Quran is the neglected miracle of the
21st century. This belief was his drive to embark on the show with the
hope of introducing young Muslims throughout the world to this miracle
and in an attempt to reach the hearts and minds of the younger
generation of English speaking Muslims by using a dynamic and intense
talkback format.
To achieve that, Moez usually tackles common and often controversial
topics with a contemporary and fresh approach that most youth can
identify with and relate to through their daily encounters and
experiences. This is where the name "Parables in the Quran" stems from:
The fact that the stories and examples that Quran abounds with, are
essentially of contemporary relevance when one interprets and applies
them to every day concerns.
The show also includes a panel of four women and four men who give
examples of their personal experiences in relation to the theme. This
provides viewers with an insight into other perspective. Included among
the topics discussed in the most recently shot episodes of the show
were:
- Family problems
- Honesty
- Treating parents kindly
- Contemplating God’s creation
- Faith in Allah’s choices for us
- The Afterlife
Many of these themes include real life
examples from Moez's life, the participating panel, and obvious global
and social influences.
"The target of my show is first to create loyalty towards God and his
messenger, second to make people love the Quran, third to stress the
fact of certainty in an after life and that Allah forgives our sins…and
finally hope in paradise…"
